About the role:
Following the recent acquisition of ATTO-TEC GmbH by Leica Microsystems, we are rapidly expanding our assay development team at our ATTO-TEC site in Siegen, Germany.
We are seeking a Principal Scientist with over 10 years of experience in high-profile biological research environments and a proven ability to establish and optimize protocols for both liquid and tissue biopsy samples. Proficiency in histological techniques, including tissue sectioning and staining, as well as a broad experience with different sample types will help the successful candidate to develop assays for various applications and samples.
The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific track record in at least one of the following areas, a broad technological background and a solid understanding of at least some of the following areas: molecular biology, genetics/genomics, spatial biology, multiomics, phenomics, and next-generation disease models.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize assay technologies and protocols.
Design and implement verification and validation plans.
Establish and maintain research infrastructure.
Manage laboratory operations and ensure compliance with good laboratory practices.
Train and mentor new lab members and technical assistants.
Your Qualifications:
Ph.D./Dr.rer-nat. in biochemistry, chemistry, or biology.
Expertise in techniques such as ELISA, Western blotting, FLPC, IF (ICC, IHC), FISH, RNA/protein codetection assays, NGS, CRISPR screens/gene editing, single cell analysis, cytometry/FACS, spatial biology.
Experience with imaging-based assays and modern microscopy platforms (e.g., confocal microscopes, light sheet microscopy).
Strong lab management skills.
Experience leading a team of scientists, user training, and/or teaching.
