The Principal Project Engineer is responsible for Project strategy, execution, and leadership within the Global Operations Engineering Organization.
This position reports to the VP of Global Operations Engineering and is part of Strategic Execution Initiatives located in Port Washington, NY and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Develop strategy, execute, and lead project management activity including schedule, budget, escalation, internal & external team engagement.
- Change management strategy execution and leadership for manufacturing processes utilizing structured change control methodology/processes
- Lead and execute structured problem-solving activity associated with complex manufacturing issues (internal and external) to identify root cause and implement effective & sustainable corrective actions
- Lead and execute characterization of manufacturing processes (internal & external) to drive improvements to manufacturing capability
- Strategize, execute and lead complex engineering solutions to drive operational margin expansion (including multi-site coordination)
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Extensive experience (+10 years) in Filtration media and device manufacturing, test methods, and applications. Ability to work with internal and external customers on performance issues and product optimization.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) and track record demonstrating applicable work experience (typically >10 years in similar work force role)
- Extensive experience/proven track record in actively leading structured problem solving (DMAIC, PSP, VRK, etc.) and making decisions based on data and advanced statistical analytics (as required) with Lean Six Sigma Certification or DBS certified practitioner preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate technical information in both oral and written forms at any level within the organization (including mentoring and teaching technical learnings to strengthen organizational foundation)
- Follows organized project management practices, establishing actions, dates, and accountability across multidisciplined teams while be capable of working independently, managing workload, and staying adaptable to changing business needs.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel – typically <25% and primarily within the United States.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Demonstrated ability to be "hands on" and to go to Gemba to learn new processes and build subject matter expertise through on the job experience and job assignment
- Direct experience in manufacturing associated with batch or chemical processing, assembly automation, web handling, or similar macro business unit environment (BioPharma, Micro E, Automotive, etc.)
- Advance use of the following software packages or equivalent: MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Minitab or other statistical software, AutoCAD or other drafting software

The salary range for this role is $150,000-$160,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
