The IT Support Technician for Leica Biosystems is responsible for maintaining hardware, software, network issues, configuring operating systems, phone and conferencing systems

This fixed term position (2 years contract) is part of the IT Department located in Mount Waverley, Victoria and will be a fully on-site role. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

You will be a part of the End User Support and Services Australia Team and report to the Team Lead, IT End User Support & Services Australia / India responsible for the daily IT operations for both countries. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Respond to customer tickets; troubleshooting and resolving in a timely manner.

  • Order, configure and install new workstations and associated IT equipment

  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT systems and network related issues

  • Installation and support for business-specific engineering applications

The essential requirements of the job include:  

  • Graduate or post-graduate qualifications (or equivalent) in a relevant field – e.g. Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering

  • Minimum 1 years experience, supporting IT systems in a corporate environment

  • An understanding of Microsoft Windows, Office 365, PowerBI, Adobe, SAP, and other desktop applications.

  • Knowledge of network fundamentals and associated technologies

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • There are no regular travel requirements, but domestic/international travel may be required at times for specialised training, outages, or support.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience with – SCCM, DSC, Linux, Azure/AWS, SQL, PABX, VoIP

  • ITIL concepts & best practices
