We’re excited to share that we’re now accepting applications for a number of summer job opportunities at our site in Uppsala during the summer of 2025. The summer job positions are spread across various parts of our organization, ranging from manufacturing and R&D, to logistics, quality control and general administration.

We’re looking for a summer worker at Cytiva in Uppsala to join our Fast Trak / Process Development team to assist in exploratory experiments with the aim to investigate the effect of sanitizing agents on chromatography resins. At Fast Trak, we perform process development projects for customers, primarily in the pharma business. Fast Trak also delivers trainings in bioprocessing techniques. As a summer worker with us, you’ll get the opportunity to understand and apply various techniques for chromatography and more specifically troubleshoot and investigate one specific phenomenon related to resin sanitization procedures. You will get the opportunity to assess resin performance/behavior in a real drug purification application.

What you’ll do

  • Work in a collaborative industrial project environment involving chromatography subject matter experts (SMEs) from both Cytiva Fast Trak and Cytiva R&D
  • Experimentally expose various resins to sanitization solutions & assess the effect of such solutions on the resin
  • Perform chromatography experiments with both pure protein and real “feed” from a biological production process as samples
  • Perform analytical assays to assess resin performance
  • Summarize and report results together with the project supervisor

Who you are

  • Ongoing studies within biotechnology, protein science, molecular biology or similar.
  • Knowledge about chromatography and protein chemistry is a plus.
  • Experience working with the ÄKTA chromatography system and/or UNICORN is a plus.
  • Experience with qPCR and HPLC is a plus
  • You communicate fluently in English and Swedish.

As a summer worker at Cytiva, it is required that you are at least 18 years of age and have a valid work permit.
