The SEO Manager is responsible for strategize, implement, and optimize our SEO efforts, delivering measurable results and advancing our company’s digital marketing success.
This position reports to the Senior manager of SEO and Analytics and is part of the Digital ecommerce located in Cambridge UK and will be on-site. At Abcam, our vision is to be the most influential life sciences company for researchers worldwide.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- SEO Strategy Development: Define, execute, and continuously refine a comprehensive SEO strategy focused on driving growth in traffic and conversions. Leverage competitor analysis, current SEO trends, and best practices to ensure our strategy is cutting-edge.
- Content Optimization & Strategy: Work closely with content and product marketing teams to develop and optimize SEO-friendly content that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our target audience. Identify gaps and opportunities in content strategy to improve search rankings and engage users.
- Technical SEO Management: Conduct technical audits, analyze on-page and off-page factors, and identify opportunities for improving site structure, page load speeds, mobile optimization, and other technical factors critical to SEO success.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Set KPIs, track SEO performance metrics, and develop clear reporting processes to communicate insights and performance results to stakeholders. Use data to make informed recommendations and pivot strategies as necessary.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate SEO strategy, performance insights, and project progress to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and gaining buy-in for key initiatives.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- 5+ years of experience in SEO with a proven track record of driving growth in organic traffic and rankings, preferably in a fast-growing company or startup.
- Hands-on expertise in SEO tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog).
- Strong understanding of technical SEO, content strategy, and data analysis and how each contributes to the overall SEO landscape.
- Excellent analytical skills and a data-driven mindset to measure success and make informed recommendations.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and implement initiatives end-to-end.
