Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a Senior Product Development Scientist with expertise in protein conjugation and fluorescence-based assay development. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience in imaging techniques for biological systems. In this role, you will be an integral part of the R&D team, focusing on the design, development and optimisation of novel analytical reagents for various research applications including antibody discovery and development.
If you are passionate about science and helping scientists around the world accelerate the development of life-saving medicines, we are looking for an enthusiastic, inspired, skilled individual to join our multi-disciplinary team.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Establishing, optimizing and scaling biomolecule conjugation capabilities in-house, in addition to establishing, optimizing and verifying conjugation characterization techniques (HPLC, SDS-PAGE etc.);
- Design, develop, verify and validate fluorescence or other-based assays for biomolecular detection, quantification and interaction studies;
- Utilize imaging technologies such as fluorescence microscopy, confocal microscopy, and high-content imaging to analyze biological samples;
- Implement automation for assays where applicable;
- Troubleshoot assays/instruments for product and method development;
The required qualifications for the job include:
- PhD or equivalent degree in Biotechnology/Analytical instrumentation, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related discipline (essential);
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in protein conjugation techniques (chemical crosslinking, bioconjugation strategies);
Skills Required:
- Proficiency in fluorescence imaging techniques, including sample preparation, image acquisition, and data analysis;
- In-depth knowledge of bioconjugation chemistry and protein engineering, with hands-on experience in cell biology, CHO cell culture and molecular biology;
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with quantitative data analysis and assay validation;
It would be a plus if you also possess:
- At least 5-years hands-on experience in Biotech/Pharma industry;
- Hands-on experience in plate-based assay execution and development is essential and ideally advanced knowledge of and practical experience in fluorescence-based assays;
- Strong track record and hands-on experience in technology development;
