Inside Sales Specialist/ Tender Coordinator

The Inside Sales Specialist/Tender Coordinator is responsible for the strategic and tactical management of a defined portfolio of accounts. In order to meet commercial revenue targets, the role will focus on building relationships with leading academic and biopharma accounts and the generation of new business opportunities for growth. You will proactively make outbound calls, schedule customer visits in your assigned territory and nurture leads from marketing through to opportunities. You will also support the wider EMEA sales team by coordinating internal teams to provide responses to viable tenders and contracts in order to support revenue growth across the region.

This position reports to the Sales Director, EMEA and is part of the EMEA Sales team and will be located in Cambridge, UK.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Utilise commercial expertise and strategic thinking to drive revenue growth within named focus accounts by identifying new business opportunities across our full range of products and services, and adopt the Sales Cloud CRM system to manage leads, opportunities, and provide account insights.

  • Work cross-functionally to develop an account plan for high potential accounts in your territory that supports our specific business objectives; implement supporting activities, develop key contacts and achieve the revenue goals for each organisation.

  • Support the EMEA Sales team in closing commercial agreements that drive revenue growth within the region by preparing and submitting tender/contract responses; including related documents, by coordinating with internal teams (e.g. Legal, Supply Chain, Sales etc.) to ensure timely response submission.

  • Provide regular sales forecasts to management regarding both financial and proactive activities output conducted in alignment with individual objectives and revenue goals for your territory.

  • Continually provide market feedback to the organisation around customer trends, market development and competitive activities observed within your territory.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Fluent in English language  - strong written and verbal required. Additional language such as Spanish or French highly beneficial.

  • BSc in a life science discipline (or equivalency in a commercial discipline) with strong experience selling into life science market preferred

  • Ability to build and leverage relationships both internally and externally with key stakeholders to achieve desired results

  • Proficient in managing customer relationships at both scientific end-user and decision-making levels, while being professional, confident and credible

  • Experience in tender/contract management preferred.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:

  • Travel, both domestic and international is required of up to 20%.  This will include face-to-face meetings with customers, attendance at conferences, and travelling to sales meetings. There will be occasional international trips for sales meetings or intercompany meetings.

  • Full UK driving license required.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • MSc or Ph.D. in Biology or related field

  • Demonstrable experience in selling solutions and services across complex research workflows

  • High attention to detail with experience in effectively reviewing and understanding sales agreements, tender proposals and related information
